FISHKILL, N.Y.— Martin J. Hunt, 90, died Nov. 17 in Boulder, Colo.
Born May 13, 1925 in Paterson, N.J. to the late James J. and Mary McKelvey Hunt. He grew up in Englewood, N.J. and graduated from St. Cecilia High School in 1943.
At the age of 18, Hunt was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he was sent to the European Theater of World War II. After being honorably discharged, he enrolled in Seton Hall University and graduated in 1952. He taught for 25 years in New Jersey and Long Island prior to retiring and moving to Fishkill in 1991.
Hunt is survived by his children, Elizabeth Hunt Rosica of Madison, N.J.; Joanne Hunt of Boulder, Colo.; and Thomas Hunt of Boulder Colo.
He was predeceased by his siblings Francis Hunt, James Hunt, Christine Hunt and Martha Hunt Kagel.
Friends may call from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main St., Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary, Mother of The Church, Fishkill. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Denis Cemetery, Hopewell Junction.
